What Is It?
White Barytes Powder represents the premium end of SBMPM’s product range. It is the most processed and brightest form of barytes powder we produce — with whiteness levels of up to 95% and BaSO4 content of up to 96%. The product is white in appearance and is produced specifically for applications where both high density and high brightness are required simultaneously.
SBMPM’s White Barytes Powder range — the W-Series — includes six grades from SBMPM-W20 to SBMPM-W70. Specific gravity ranges from 3.0 to 4.30 g/cc and BaSO4 content ranges from 45% to 96%, with whiteness ranging from 60% to 95%. The SBMPM-W20 grade — with 96% BaSO4, 95% whiteness, and specific gravity of 4.25–4.30 g/cc — is our highest-performance white barytes product.
Moisture content is maintained at an extremely low 0.04% for all W-Series grades, ensuring excellent free-flowing properties and long shelf life. Particle sizes of 300, 400, and 500 mesh are available, each with a maximum 0.5% retained, providing fine and consistent powder suitable for demanding end-use applications.
Our white barytes is produced at a rate of 2,000 metric tons per month from our dedicated white barytes processing mill at our Kadapa facility — one of the largest white barytes production capacities among Indian manufacturers.
Who Is It For?
White Barytes Powder is the preferred choice for applications where colour matters as much as performance. Key buyers include:
- Premium paint and coating manufacturers — particularly for exterior architectural paints, interior finishes, and decorative coatings where whiteness and brightness directly affect product quality
- Plastic and masterbatch manufacturers who need a bright, high-density filler for compounds, films, and moulded products
- Paper and printing industry buyers who need a bright mineral filler with good opacity
- Ceramics and glass manufacturers who depend on the brightness, chemical purity, and specific gravity of premium barytes
- Foam and floor covering manufacturers who need a weighting agent that does not compromise the surface appearance
- Adhesive and sealant producers for light-coloured or white-finished construction and industrial products
Key Benefits
Exceptional Whiteness: The W-Series tops out at 95% whiteness (SBMPM-W20), which is among the highest achievable in barytes powder processing. This makes it directly comparable to other white mineral fillers such as calcium carbonate or talc, but with the added advantage of a much higher specific gravity.
High BaSO4 Purity: Up to 96% BaSO4 content in SBMPM-W20 ensures superior mineral purity, meeting the requirements of the most demanding formulations.
High Specific Gravity: Despite its bright white colour, SBMPM white barytes retains a specific gravity of up to 4.30 g/cc — an important property for density-sensitive applications that need both whiteness and weight.
Ultra-Low Moisture: At 0.04% moisture content, white barytes from SBMPM is one of the most stable and free-flowing mineral products available, suitable for moisture-sensitive mixing and processing environments.
Fine and Consistent Particle Size: Standardised at 300, 400, and 500 mesh with tight 0.5% maximum retained, the W-Series delivers the fine, homogeneous particle distribution required by premium paint, plastic, and paper applications.
Colour-Stable Formulations: The high whiteness and low spectral absorbance of SBMPM white barytes does not affect the final colour of paints, coatings, or plastics, even at high filler loadings.
Chemical Inertness: Completely stable in contact with water, most acids, and alkalis — safe and compatible with virtually all coating, rubber, plastic, and adhesive chemistry systems.
Improved End-Product Performance: Fine particle size improves intensity, stiffness, abrasion resistance, and dimensional stability in finished products. Low oil absorption reduces binder demand in paint formulations, improving economics.
Large-Scale Availability: With 2,000 MT/month production capacity dedicated to white grades, SBMPM can meet large and consistent supply requirements without compromise on quality or delivery timelines.
Competitive Pricing with Free Samples: SBMPM offers stable quality at competitive prices, and free samples are available for any W-Series grade on request.
